Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing, also known as fractional CO2 laser resurfacing, involves the use of a laser to deliver short pulses of energy to target specific layers of skin. This minor damage stimulates the production of a naturally occurring protein called collagen, resulting in more youthful skin. Fractional and CO2 lasers produce the most effective results, eliminating more serious scars and marks than ablative laser techniques. A laser skin resurfacing procedure can take anywhere from half an hour to two hours depending on the size of the treatment area, and patients are typically sedated or given a topical and/or local anesthetic.
